In pharmaceutical practice bitter fennel is used.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h3 class=\"wp-block-heading\"><strong>Active ingredients<\/strong><\/h3>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Essential oil when extracted from bitter fennel:<br>\nMain components: trans-anethoI (50 &#8211; 75 %), fenchone (12 &#8211; 33 %), estragole (2 &#8211; 5 %)<br>\nalso aIpha-pinene, camphene, p-cymene, myrcene, limonene, alpha- and beta-phellandrene, gamma-terpinene, terpinolene, cis-ocimene, and others.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h3 class=\"wp-block-heading\"><strong>Effect<\/strong><\/h3>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Foeniculum Vulgare Extract has a spasmolytic effect on smooth muscle and a secretomotor effect on the bronchial mucosa. Anethole and fenchone have bronchosecretolytic, moreover in vitro antimicrobial and fungicidal effects. Fenchon has a central stimulating effect.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>has a decramping effect<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>antimicrobial<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>fungicide<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<h3 class=\"wp-block-heading\"><strong>Use<\/strong><\/h3>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Foeniculum vulgare extract used for catarrhal infections of the respiratory tract, for dyspeptic complaints and mild gastrointestinal disorders.
