Its flowers are traditionally used in Egypt for a refreshing and health-giving tea.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h3 class=\"wp-block-heading\"><strong>Active ingredients<\/strong><\/h3>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">The flowers contain flavonoids, anthocyanidins, phytosterols and organic acids such as ascorbic acid, citric acid and hibiscus acid, among others.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h3 class=\"wp-block-heading\"><strong>Effect<\/strong><\/h3>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">The hibiscus sabdariffa flower extract has antioxidant, toning effect on tired, stressed skin, refreshing and moisturizing effect, as well as a free radical scavenger.
