The dried, red-brown colored rhizomes freed from the rhizome are used as the drug.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h3 class=\"wp-block-heading\"><strong>Active ingredients<\/strong><\/h3>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Tannin content min. 10 &#8211; 40 %. The tannins belong to the catechin group, phlobaphene (ratanhiarot), ratanhiaphenol l and II, L(+)-N-methyltyrosine.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h3 class=\"wp-block-heading\"><strong>Effect<\/strong><\/h3>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">The drug is used internally for diarrhea and gastritis.
