Effect
It has antibacterial and comedolytic (comedogen dissolving) effects. It inhibits the growth of propionic bacteria involved in the development of acne and the formation of acne-promoting fatty acids. Various studies suggest that the acid influences the cornification process of epidermal cells and thus exerts a therapeutic positive effect on the formation of comedones (blackheads) occurring in acne.
