Origin
Betaine (trimethylglycine) is a moisturizer derived from sugar beet.
Effect
It causes the skin to retain its moisture through osmosis regulation. It has an anti-irritant and anti-inflammatory effect. It reduces the irritation potential of surfactants in bath and shower products.
