INCI name: CARICA PAPAYA FRUIT EXTRACT
The papaya plant originated in tropical America; today it is cultivated in the West Indies, Tanzania and Hawaii.
The orange-yellow carica papaya fruits contain: Ascorbic acid (vitamin C), citric acid, carotenoids (violaxanthin), vitamins A and B, enzyme systems such as papain, chymopapain, papaya protease, hydrolase.
It has slimming, laxative and antibacterial, anti-inflammatory properties. Papain is used as a substitution enzyme in gastric and intestinal inflammation.
In cosmetics, the skin softening, refreshing and regenerative properties are used.
