Origin
Borago officinalis seed oil is obtained from the seed of borage (Borago officinalis). It is the oil that has the highest content of gamma-linolenic acid (see vitamin F).
Effect
This valuable vegetable oil increases skin elasticity and reduces transepidermal water loss, making it excellent for high-quality skin care products.
The fatty acid composition is as follows:
Palmitic acid approx. 10 %
Stearic acid approx. 4 %
Oleic acid approx. 18 %
linoleic acid approx. 38 %
gamma-linolenic acid approx. 20 %
arachidic acid approx. 4 %
