Origin
Lotus flower (Nelumbo Nucifera) belongs to the water lily family, Nymphaeaceae. Nymphea lotos, the Egyptian white lotus flower, was the sacred flower in the ancient Egyptian Empire. The flower was part of a royal tradition of a beauty bath for queens in ancient India and as a medicine for various ailments in other Asian countries.
Active ingredients of Nelumbo Nucifera Flower Extract
Both the flower and the seed can be useful, as the seed extract can be obtained from the green germ of the ripe seeds. The nelumbo nucifera extract contains flavonoids and alkaloids, e.g. romaine, lotus, army paine, neferine, etc.

Effect of Nelumbo Nucifera Flower Extract
